On behalf of the Poetry team, DiN is proud to announce the release of their newest editorial feature: Sonder
2020 has been described as the year when the world blew a fuse. For some, this year has been the worst year to experience; for others, it has been a year full of bliss. Of course, some fall between the neutrality and ambivalence of these two. We would like to showcase poetry representing isolation, discrimination, growth, euphoria, and power.
The poems within this feature represent this theme and come from a variety of poets, both published and unpublished including local voices.

"2020 has been described as the year when the world blew a fuse…"
Most of us Americans, not just Donald Trump, life has been so easy that any little wrinkle in our lives drives us to despair. My teenage nightmare in 1971 was being forced by my government to die a meaningless death in Vietnam. However, my teenage future father’s real nightmare in 1945 was being hit by a kamikaze off the coast of Japan. Yes, the two great diseases of our time, Covid19 and Donald Trump, have hurt or destroyed a lot of people’s lives. However, being engaged, in reading and in writing, is a great way to weather most storms. Thanks, DIN!
